Women’s Comprehensive Health and Research Center Established at the Cleveland Clinic

The Cleveland Clinic has established the Women’s Comprehensive Health and Research Center which aims to advance the field and improve women’s access to healthcare across the states of Ohio and Michigan. Maria Shriver, founder of the Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement Prevention and Research Center at the Cleveland Clinic, has been appointed to serve as the center’s chief visionary and strategic advisor.

The new center will provide specialty care tailored to conditions affecting middle aged and elder women. This includes behavioral health, breast health, cardiovascular health, infant and maternal services, endocrinology, menopause, osteoporosis and bone density, wellness and disease prevention, healthy aging, and Alzheimer’s disease. The center will employ dedicated patient navigators who will focus on streamlining appointments and enhancing outreach programs, therefore ensuring women can access the care they need in a timely manner.

Another priority of the Women’s Comprehensive Health and Research Center is creating an educational suite of resources for patients including support groups and outreach efforts for diverse communities. Additionally, the center will focus on advancing research into all areas of women’s health, as well as mitigating healthcare disparities for underrepresented populations.
