Annebelle Nery Is the New President of Santa Ana College in California

Rancho Santiago Community College District has announced the appointment of Annebelle Nery as president of Santa Ana College in California. She took office on January 3.

“Santa Ana College is an extraordinary and historic institution,” Dr. Nery said. “I am honored to serve as its next president and to work alongside some of the very best and brightest faculty and staff in the California community college system. I will do everything in my power to serve the students of the college and our Orange County community-at-large.”

Santa Ana College enrolls more than 20,000 students, according to the most recent data from the U.S. Department of Education. Women make up 48 percent of the student body.

Dr. Nery was the vice president of instruction at the College of the Desert in Palm Desert, California. Earlier, she served as vice president of student success at the College of the Desert.

President Nery earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in sociology from California State University, Los Angeles. She holds a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of California, Riverside.
