Two Women Are Finalists for Dean Posts at the University of Nebraska and New Mexico State University

The University of Nebraska has named a field of four finalist for dean of the College of Architecture. All four candidates will visit the campus by the end of April for public presentations and forums. One of the four finalists is a woman.

Katherine S. Ankerson is a professor and chair of the department of interior architecture and product design at Kansas State University. Earlier in her career, Professor Ankerson was a professor and associate dean of the College of Architecture at the University of Nebraska. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture from Washington State University. Professor Ankerson is the author of several books including Illustrated Codes of Designers: Residential (Fairchild Books, 2012) and Illustrated Codes of Designers: Non-Residential (Fairchild Books, 2013).

New Mexico State University has named a field of four finalists for the position of dean of the College of Agricultural, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences. All four candidates will visit the Las Cruces campus by the middle of May for a series of interview and public forums. One of the four finalists is a woman.

Mary Holz-Clause is dean of the College of Agriculture and a professor of agricultural business management at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She had held this position since 2014. Previously, she was vice president for economic development at the University of Connecticut. Earlier, Dr. Holz-Clause was associate vice president for extension and outreach a Iowa State University. Dr. Holz-Clause holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business, a master of public administration degree, and a Ph.D. in agricultural education, all from Iowa State University.
