Hope Glidden was a professor of French and Francophone studies at Syracuse University in New York. She joined the faculty at Syracuse University in 2010 after teaching at Tulane University in New Orleans.

At the end of World War II, Lemke was in the Russian quarter of Berlin. She escaped in a wooden crate that was marked as packaging for a telescope to be sent to West Berlin. She taught at Syracuse University in New York from 1952 to 1986.

Marilyn Kerr taught biology at Syracuse University in New York for more than four decades. In 1976, she earned a Ph.D. in zoology at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She was only the second woman to do so.
