Four Women Who Have Been Appointed to Diversity Posts in Higher Education

The University of Cincinnati College of Law has announced that Jenn Dye has been named assistant dean of inclusive excellence and belonging at the college. This new position is in addition to her role as director of the Nathaniel R. Jones Center for Race, Gender, and Social Justice. Before joining the College of Law, Dr. Dye was a research associate and director of the Human Services Research and Innovation Center at the University of Cincinnati.

Dr. Dye is a graduate of Wilmington College in Delaware. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati.

Shawnrece Campbell was named assistant vice president for diversity and inclusion at Northern Michigan University in Marquette. She is the former dean of the College of Liberal Arts and director of the School of Art, Media and Communication at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

Dr. Campbell earned a bachelor’s in English at John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio, a master’s degree in English at Youngstown State University in Ohio, an MBA at Stetson University in Florida, and a doctorate in English with an emphasis on African American and multicultural literature at Kent State University in Ohio.

Danielle Lopez was appointed the inaugual director of diversity, equity, and inclusion for accessibility services at Hudson County Community College in Jersey City, New Jersey. For the past 10 years, she served as assistant director and academic counselor at the Center for Student Accessibility at the City University of New York.

Lopez earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the College of Staten Island of the City University of New York. She holds a master’s degree in disability services in higher education from the School of Professional Studies at CUNY.

Taunita V. Stephenson was named the head of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging for the division of recreation and intercollegiate athletics and wellness at the University of Pennsylvania. Stephenson has spent the past three years at The Pingry School in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, where she was associate director of athletics and also and was in charge of DEI efforts.

Stephenson is a 2009 graduate of Delaware State University, with a bachelor’s degree in sports management. She earned an MBA and a master’s degree in sport business management from the University of Central Florida.
