Patricia A. Sharpnack of Ursuline College Chosen to Lead the National League for Nursing

Patricia A. Sharpnack, dean and Strawbridge Professor in the Breen School of Nursing and Health Professions at Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio, was named chair of the National League for Nursing during the organization’s annual conference in Baltimore, Maryland. She will continue to serve as dean during her two-year tenure in this position.

The National League of Nursing has approximately 1,100 organizational members, including colleges and universities, health and hospital systems, nonprofit healthcare organizations, and corporations.

“I’m proud to represent an organization dedicated to ensuring that nurses have access to the best education and tools to meet the growing healthcare needs of our nation,” Dr. Sharpnack said.

Dr. Sharpnack has been dean of nursing at Ursuline College since 2006. She is a fellow in the Academy of Nurse Educators and president of the Ohio Board of Nursing.

Dr. Sharpnack earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Ursuline College. She holds a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Akron in Ohio and a doctor of nursing practice degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.
