Anita Hanson Is the New President of Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College in Cloquet, Minnesota

The Board of Trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities has named Anita Hanson to serve as president of Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College in Cloquet, Minnesota.

Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College, located just west of Duluth, enrolls just over 1,500 students according to the most recent data available from the U.S. Department of Education. Women make up 62 percent of the student body.

Hanson first joined the staff at the college in 1994 and has served in several capacities. Since November 2022, she has been acting president. Previously, Hanson was vice president of student services and enrollment management during the fall of 2022 and the dean of student services from 2018 to 2022. From 2008 to 2012, Hanson provided oversight of the student services department.

An enrolled member of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe, Hanson holds a bachelor’s degree from North Dakota State University and a master’s degree in educational psychology from the University of Minnesota Duluth.
