In Memoriam: Carol A. Nathanson, 1945-2022

Carol Nathanson, a retired professor of art and art history at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, died late last month at a hospice facility in Dayton. She was 77 years old.

Dr. Nathanson was a graduate of Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts. She earned a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University in 1973. Prior to joining the Wright State University faculty in the fall of 1979, she taught at Oberlin College in Ohio and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Professor Nathanson taught at Wright State University for 30 years, retiring in 2009.

Dr. Nathanson was very active in the loal community. She served on the Boards of Trustees of the Dayton Visual Arts Center, the Springfield Museum of Art in Ohio, the Midwest Art History Society, and the Great Lakes American Studies Association.
