American Indian College Fund President Honored by Working Mother Media

Cheryl Crazy Bull, president and CEO of the American Indian College Fund President was presented with the Legacy Award from Working Mother Media. She was selected for the award because of her extensive experience with the tribal college movement and her tireless work in supporting Native student success and education.

The organization established the Legacy Award in 2005 to honor one extraordinary individual for her inspiration, dedication, and contributions to the advancement of multicultural women in the workplace and beyond. Subha V. Barry, president of Working Mother Media, said, “This award acknowledges the incredible and courageous women who are out there in the field doing the hard work and making a difference, being mentors, leaders, and examples to others-and who are creating a legacy and vision for future women.”

Cheryl Crazy Bull has led the American Indian College Fund since 2012. Earlier in her career, she was a department chair and dean of academic affairs at Sinte Gleska University in Mission, South Dakota. She also was president of Northwest Indian College in Bellingham, Washington. A graduate of the University of South Dakota, she earned a master’s degree in educational leadership from South Dakota State University.
