In Memoriam: Nancy W. Veeder, 1937-2018

Nancy Veeder, a long-time faculty member in the School of Social Work at Boston College, died on June 1 after a long illness. She was 81 years old.

A native of Albany, New York, Dr. Veeder was a graduate of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. She earned a master of social work degree at Simmons College in Boston and an MBA at Boston College. Dr. Veeder held a Ph.D. from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts.

Dr. Veeder served on the faculty at the Boston College School of Social Work for 40 years. She was the author of Marketing Human Services: Selling Your Services Under Managed Care (Springer, 1999) and Women’s Decision-Making: Common Themes, Irish Voices (Praeger, 1992).

Dr. Veeder retired from teaching in 2008.
