In Memoriam: Hope Lewis, 1962-2016

Hope LewisHope Lewis, a professor at the Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, died on December 6 after a long illness. She was 54 years old.

Professor Lewis specialized in international law with a particular emphasis on human rights issues. She was the co-founder of the law school’s Program on Human Rights and the Global Economy. Professor Lewis was the co-author of Human Rights and the Global Marketplace: Economic, Social, and Cultural Dimensions (Martinus Nijhoff, 2005).

Before joining the faculty of the law school at Northeastern University, Professor Lewis was an attorney in the Office of Chief Counsel of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Professor Lewis was a graduate of Harvard University and Harvard Law School.
