The Next Leader of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi

Dr. Kelly Quintanilla, the new interim president of Texas A&M University-Corpus ChristiKelly Quintanilla was appointed interim president of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She will assume her new duties on January 1, upon the retirement of current university president Flavius Killebrew. Dr. Quintanilla currently serves as provost and vice president for academic affairs at the university.

The Corpus Christi campus enrolls nearly 10,000 undergraduate students and more than 2,000 graduate students. Women make up 59 percent of the undergraduate student body.

Dr. Quintanilla joined the faculty at the university in 1994. Before becoming provost, she served as chair of the department of communication and theatre, dean of the College of Liberal Arts, and director of the School of Arts, Media, and Communication. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Quintanilla holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in communication from Pennsylvania State University.
