Yale’s Alanna Schepartz Is the New Editor-in-Chief of the Journal Biochemistry

Alanna Schepartz, the Milton Harris ’29 Ph.D. Professor of Chemistry and professor of molecular, cellular, and development biology has been appointed editor-in-chief of Biochemistry, a peer-reviewed journal published by the American Chemical Society. She has been associate editor at the journal since 2005.

After the appointment, Professor Schepartz stated that “I am supremely honored and thrilled. It’s a fantastic opportunity to develop a single journal known for outstanding, high-impact research on not only what biochemistry is, but also where biochemistry matters.”

Professor Schepartz’s research focuses on understanding how macromolecular interactions control sophisticated biological processes such as information transfer, intracellular trafficking, and compartmentalization. She is a graduate of the University at Albany of the State University of New York System and holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University in New York City.
