Fiona Harrison of CalTech Wins Award From the Committee on Space Research

Fiona HarrisonFiona Harrison, the Benjamin M. Rosen Professor of Physics who holds the Joyce Kresa Leadership Chair in the Division of Physics, Mathematics, and Astronomy at the California Institute of Technology, has been selected to receive the 2016 Massey Award presented by the Committee on Space Research. The award recognizes “outstanding contributions to the development of space research in which a leadership role is of particular importance.”

Dr. Harrison is the principal investgator on the NASA grant project for the NuSTAR (Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array) mission. The project began in 2012 and involves a telescope operating in a high frequency band of hard X-rays.

Professor Harrison is a graduate of Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hamphire. She earned a Ph.D. in physics from the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Harrison joined the faculty at CalTech in 1995.
