Georgia Regents University/University of Georgia Medical Partnership Announces Dean Candidates

The University of Georgia has announced two finalists for the position for campus dean of the Georgia Regents University/University of Georgia Medical Partnership. Both candidates will visit the University of Georgia Health Sciences campuses this month for interviews and presentations. One of the two finalists is a woman.

SharkeyAngela Sharkey is associate dean for faculty affairs and professional development and a professor of pediatrics at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine in Missouri. She is an expert in prenatal diagnosis of congenital heart disease.

Dr. Sharkey is a graduate of Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She earned her medical degree at Saint Louis University.

The other finalist is Kenneth Simons, senior associate dean for graduate medical education and accreditation at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
