University of Wyoming Promotes Three Women to Full Professor

wyomingThe University of Wyoming has announced the promotion of 21 faculty members to the rank of full professor. Three of these appointments went to women.

hakima-webHakima Bessaih was named full professor of mathematics. She joined the faculty at the University of Wyoming in 2004. Dr. Bessaih is a graduate of the University of Algiers in Algeria. She holds a Ph.D. from the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa, Italy.

hartAnn Marie Hart was appointed professor of nursing in the College of Health Sciences. She is a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. She earned a master’s degree at the University of Wyoming and a Ph.D. at the University of Colorado. She joined the faculty at the University of Wyoming in 2003.

laegreid-reneeRenee M. Laegreid was promoted to full professor of history and granted tenure. Professor Laegreid is the author of Riding Pretty: Rodeo Royalty in the West (University of Nebraska Press, 2006) and co-editor of Women on the North American Plains (Texas Tech University Press, 2011). She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska.
