University of Maine Professor Honored by the Poetry Society of America

moxleyJennifer Moxley, a professor of English at the University of Maine, has received the 2015 William Carlos Williams Award from the Poetry Society of America. The award is given to an author who is a permanent resident of the United States and published a book of poetry with a small, nonprofit, or university press.

Professor Moxley was honored for her book The Open Secret (Flood Editions, 2014). This is Professor Moxley’s sixth poetry collection. She has also authored a book of essays, a memoir, and translated three books from French.

Professor Moxley studied literature and writing at the University of California, San Diego and the University of Rhode Island. She holds a master of fine arts degree from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
