The Next Provost at Menlo College in California

Terri_Givens-Terri Givens was appointed provost at Menlo College in Atherton, California. According to the latest Department of Education figures, there are 745 students enrolled at the college and women make up only 38 percent of the student body.

Dr. Givens has been serving as a professor in the department of government in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Texas at Austin. She was the first African American women to serve as vice provost at the University of Texas. Earlier in her career, Dr. Givens taught at the University of Washington.

Professor Givens is the co-author of Legislating Equality: The Politics of Antidiscrimination Policy in Europe (Oxford University Press, 2014) and the author of Voting Radical Right in Western Europe (Cambridge University Press, 2005).

Dr. Givens is a graduate of Stanford University and holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
