Kerry Walk Appointed President of Marymount Manhattan College

kerry-walk-featureThe board of trustees of Marymount Manhattan College in New York City have announced the appointment of Kerry Walk as the educational institution’s eighth president. Dr. Walk will take office on July 1.

Marymount Manhattan College enrolls about 1,800 students at its campus on the Upper East Side of New York. Women make up 77 percent of the student body.

Dr. Walk is currently serving as interim president of the Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. She was named provost there in 2011. Previously, she held faculty positions at Harvard University and Princeton University and was associate dean of the faculty at Pitzer College in Claremont, California.

A graduate of Wellesley College in Massachusetts, Dr. Walk earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in English literature from the University of California, Berkeley.
