Cornell University Scholar Chosen to Deliver a Prestigious Lecture in Beijing

Tardos.EvaEva Tardos, the Jacob Gould Schurman Professor of Computer Science and senior associate dean of the faculty for computing and information at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, has been selected to give the Olga Taussky-Todd Lecture at the International Council for Industrial and Applied Mathematics in Beijing, China this April. The council meets once every four years and it is considered the most prestigious conference in the field of applied and industrial mathematics.

Dr. Tardos joined the Cornell University faculty in 1989. She was named chair of the department of computer science in 2006. Her current research is focused on algorithmic game theory as it applies to networks.

Professor Tardos received her bachelor’s degree and a Ph.D. in mathematics from Eotvos University in Budapest, Hungary.
