The band Violet Transmissions has released a new version of Thomas Dolby’s 1982 hit song, “She Blinded Me With Science.” The lead singer of the band is Tim Bussey, a professor of behavioral neuroscience at Pembroke College of the University of Cambridge in England.
The video features women scientists from Britain including structural engineer Roma Agrawal, physicist Lia Ling Yi, and Suzi Gage an epidemiologist.
All of the proceeds from the sale of the song will benefit ScienceGrrl, an organization that supports efforts to increase the number of women in scientific fields.
Here is a music video featuring the new release.
