Three Women Named to Endowed Chairs

KremerLynn Kremer, professor of theater, has been appointed to the Rev. John E. Brooks, S.J. Chair in the Humanities at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. The chair is named for a former president of the college.

Professor Kremer is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and earned a master of fine arts degree from Brandeis University. She joined the faculty at Holy Cross in 1983 and was promoted to full professor in 1997.

joanneburke-Joanne Burke is the inaugural holder of the Thomas W. Haas Professorship in Sustainable Food Systems at the University of New Hampshire in Durham. She has been serving as a clinical associate professor of nutrition at the university.

Dr. Burke is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island. She holds a master’s degree from Tufts University and a Ph.D. from the University of New Hampshire.

Tsuji_Petra-Petra Tsuji, an assistant professor of biological sciences at Towson University in Maryland, is the eighth holder of the Jess and Mildred Fisher Endowed Chair in Biological and Physical Sciences. Dr. Tsuji joined the university’s faculty in 2011 after conducting postdoctoral research at the National Cancer Institute.

Dr. Tsuji is a graduate of Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. She holds a master’s degree in marine biology from the University of Charleston, a master of public health degree from Johns Hopkins University, and a Ph.D. in biomedicine and molecular biology from the Medical University of South Carolina.
