University of Miami’s Dean of Architecture Is Stepping Down After 18 Years

Plater-ZElizabeth Plater-Zyberk, dean of the School of Architecture at the University of Miami, announced that she will step down from her post on July 1. She has served as dean for the past 18 years and has been on the faculty at the school since 1979. She will remain on the faculty at the university while also continuing her private practice in architecture with her husband. Plater-Zyberk will focus her research and teaching on how cities and towns can cope with rising seas and other effects of climate change.

Professor Plater-Zyberk is a graduate of Princeton University. She holds a master of architecture degree from Yale University.
