Three Women Sue Carlow University Claiming Age Discrimination

CarlowUniversitySealThree former employees of Carlow University in Pittsburgh have filed a lawsuit claiming that they were the victims of age discrimination. The suit claims that the university particularly targeted older women when making personnel cuts.

Last September, the university eliminated 11 positions. Among the 11 people who lost their jobs, six were women over the age of 60. The suit claims that the duties of the women who were let go were given to younger, presumably lower paid, workers.

The plaintiffs in the lawsuit are seeking their jobs back, lost wages and benefits, and damages for distress.
