Randi Martinson to Lead the World’s Largest Group of Petroleum Geologists

martinsenwebRandi Martinsen, senior lecturer at the University of Wyoming, has been voted president-elect of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. With 37,000 members, the association is the world’s largest group of petroleum geologists.

Martinson will serve one-year as president-elect and in July 2014 will become the second woman to serve as president of the organization.

Martinson has served on the faculty at the University of Wyoming since 1981. She is a graduate of Stony Brook University, part of the State University of New York system and holds a master’s degree in geology from the University of Northern Arizona.
