The First Woman Dean of the College of Business at the University of Louisville

cmcllhanx146x146Carolyn M. Callahan has been selected as the new dean of the College of Business at the University of Louisville. When she assumes her new post in July 2014, she will be the first woman and the first African American to lead the business school.

Dr. Callahan is currently the KPMG Distinguished Professor of Accounting and director of the School of Accountancy at the University of Memphis in Tennessee. She has previously taught at the University of Massachusetts, the University of Notre Dame, and the University of Arkansas. She also served as an accountant for the jet engine division of Pratt & Whitney.

Professor Callahan is a graduate of Ohio Northern University in Ada. She earned a master’s degree from Bowling Green State University in Ohio and a Ph.D. in business administration from Michigan State University.
