Bryn Mawr’s Ellen Stroud Honored by the History News Network

stroudEllen Stroud, an associate professor in the growth and structure of cities department and the director of the environmental studies program at Bryn Mawr College in suburban Philadelphia, was honored by the History News Network for having one of the five best books of the year on historical topics. She was the only woman StroudBOOKauthor among the five books selected for this honor.

Dr. Stroud was honored for her book Nature Next Door: Cities and Trees in the American Northeast (University of Washington Press).

Dr. Stroud is a graduate of the University of Michigan. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Oregon and a Ph.D. in history from Columbia University.
