University of Arkansas Reports Major Increase in Women Engineering Students

The College of Engineering at the University of Arkansas has 2,726 students enrolled this fall. This is the highest enrollment in its history and shows a whopping 73 percent increase over the past five years. There are 775 first-year students in the College of Engineering, an increase of 12 percent over last year’s record entering class.
The College of Engineering reports an increase of 33 percent in the number of entering women students. Since 2007, the number of women enrolled in the College of Engineering has more than doubled from 247 to 519. Yet even with this dramatic increase, women are only 19 percent of the student body in the College of Engineering.
