Susan Henry Wins Award for Her Research on Lipids

Susan Henry, professor of molecular biology and genetics at Cornell University, has been selected to receive the 2013 Avanti Award in Lipids from the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. The award recognizes outstanding research in lipids, naturally occurring molecules in cell membranes that store energy. As a result of the award, Professor Henry has been invited to give a lecture at the society’s annual meeting in Boston in April 2013.

Professor Henry served as the Ronald P. Lynch Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell from 2000 to 2010. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland, where she majored in zoology. Dr. Henry earned a Ph.D. in genetics at the University of California at Berkeley.
