Anita Hernandez Named Editor of the New Mexico Journal of Reading

Anita Hernandez is an associate professor and holder of the Don and Sarah Kidd Chair in Literary in the department of curriculum and instruction at the New Mexico State University College of Education. She was recently appointed by the New Mexico International Reading Association as co-editor of the New Mexico Journal of Reading. The publication is a peer-reviewed journal for classroom teachers, university professors, reading specialists, school administrators, and interested parents.

Professor Hernandez earned a bachelor’s degree from California State University-Chico and a master’s degree in reading education from California State University-Sacramento. She holds a doctorate in literacy education from Stanford University. She previously taught at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.
