Cynthia Warrick Named Interim President of South Carolina State University

The board of trustees of South Carolina State University in Orangeburg have named Cynthia Warrick as interim president of the historically Black educational institution. Dr. Warrick will assume her duties on July 1. She has been serving as a senior fellow in the School of Pharmacy at Howard University in Washington, D.C. She previously served on the faculty at Elizabeth City State University, Florida A&M University, and the University of Texas School of Public Health.

A native of Waco, Texas, Dr. Warrick is a graduate of Howard University. She earned a master’s degree in public policy from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. degree in environmental science and public policy at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
