Women Win 38 Percent of Goldwater Scholarship Awards

The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation has announced the winners of its 2012-13 Goldwater Scholarships. The scholarships are awarded to undergraduate students who have expressed plans to pursue degree programs in mathematics, the natural sciences, and engineering. Winners receive up to $7,500 per year for one or two years. The funds can be applied to tuition, room and board, fees, or textbooks.
This year 282 Goldwater Scholarships were awarded. Of the 282 winners, 108, or 38.3 percent, are women
