University of Alabama Graduate Named President of Lockheed Martin

Marilyn Hewson, a member of the board of visitors of the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration at the University of Alabama, was named president and chief operating officer of Lockheed Martin, one of the nation’s largest defense contractors with more than 126,000 employees. Hewson has been with the company for 30 years and since 2010 has served as executive vice president of the company’s Electronics Systems division, the firm’s largest business unit.

Hewson hold bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Alabama. She will begin her new duties in January.
