Linda K. Schott Slated to Be the Next President of the University of Maine at Presque Isle

Linda K. Schott was selected to be the next president of the University of Maine at Presque Isle. Her nomination must be approved by the University of Maine System board of trustees. Her appointment is scheduled to take effect on July 1 and she will be paid an annual salary of $160,000.

Dr. Schott currently serves as dean of the School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. From 2003 to 2008 she served on the faculty at Eastern Michigan University where she was director of the women’s and gender studies program. From 1993 to 2001, Dr. Schott served as the founding director of the Center for Study of Women and Gender at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Dr. Schott is a graduate of Baylor University, where she majored in history and German. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in history and the humanities from Stanford University.
