Judy Bonner Is Serving as Interim President of the University of Alabama

The board of trustees of the University of Alabama System has named Judy Bonner as interim president of the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa. She fills the role vacated by Robert Witt, who was named chancellor of the University of Alabama System. Dr. Bonner has been serving as executive vice president and provost at the university.

In a statement to the university community, Dr. Bonner, said, “I look forward to working with the UA family to keep our university on a trajectory of growth with quality, and to maintaining our long-standing commitment to excellence in every endeavor.”

Dr. Bonner has been provost since 2003. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nutrition from the University of Alabama and a doctorate from Ohio State University.
