In Memoriam: Elizabeth Mary McCormick, 1963 -2023

At the University of Tulsa College of Law, Professor McCormick founded the Immigrant Rights Project. She was the first associate dean of experiential learning, interim dean in the fall 2001 semester, and served for several semesters as the associate dean of academic affairs.

Earlier, Dr. Petersen served for nearly 16 years at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro. In addition to being a faculty member, she served in three progressively responsible leadership roles culminating with her tenure as dean of the College of Liberal Arts.

Professor Langenheim was a plant ecologist and leading authority on amber and plant resins. Her investigations included fieldwork on five continents. A woman of many “firsts”, Dr. Lanenheim taught at the University of California, Santa Cruz from 1966 to 1994.
