University of California Santa Cruz professor Terrie Williams has been awarded the Daniel Giraud Elliot Medal from the National Academy of Sciences for her work in the field of ecology and evolutionary biology.

Margaret Leinen to Lead the Scripps Institution of Oceanography
Dr. Leinen will also serve as dean of the School of Marine Sciences and vice provost of marine sciences at the University of California at San Diego. She has been serving as executive director of the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute at Florida Atlantic University.
