Diane Call Appointed President of Queensborough Community College

presCallDiane B. Call has been serving as the interim president of Queensborough Community College of the City University of New York system since July 2010. Now the trustees of CUNY have appointed her to the job on a permanent basis. Prior to being named interim president, Dr. Call was provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at the college. She has served the college for 30 years in a number of faculty and administrative posts.

The highly diverse community college, with nearly equal percentages of African Americans, Asian Americans, Whites, and Hispanics, enrolls about 17,000 students in degree programs. Women make up 54 percent of the students.

Dr. Call is a graduate of the University at Albany, part of the State University of New York system. She holds two master’s degree and an educational doctorate from Teachers College at Columbia University.
