The Women’s Resource Center at Swarthmore College Renamed to Gender & Sexuality Center

Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania has renamed its Women’s Resource Center to the Gender & Sexuality Center.

Established in 1974, the center is dedicated to cultivating an inclusive space for addressing issues relating to marginalized genders and sexualities. The new name reflects an added focus on LGBTQ+ students and is accompanied by an expanded partnership with the college’s gender and sexuality program.

“Through programming, education, and encouraging activism, the GSC fosters a welcoming community in which students can thrive, connect, and celebrate their authentic selves,” says Paige Jennings, director of the Gender & Sexuality Center. “Our safe space ensures that all students can seek support and explore their experiences without judgment. Together, we strive to build a transformative campus environment that celebrates diversity, promotes understanding, and advocates for a more equitable and inclusive future for all students, including women, gender non-conforming, trans, and queer students.”
