Erika Cameron Will Be the Next Provost at Palo Alto University in California

Erika Cameron was appointed provost and vice president for academic affairs at Palo Alto University in California. She will take office on June 30, 2021.

Palo Alto University is a private, non-profit university located in the heart of Northern California’s Silicon Valley. It was founded in 1975 as the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology and re-incorporated as Palo Alto University in August 2009. It enrolls about 1,000 undergraduates and 1,000 graduate students, according to the most recent data supplied to the U.S. Department of Education. Women make up 69 percent of the undergraduate student body.

Dr. Cameron comes to Palo Alto University from the University of San Diego, where she is an associate professor in the School of Leadership and Education Sciences. She has served in progressive administrative and leadership capacities since 2009.

“I am deeply honored to be appointed to the position of Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs of Palo Alto University,” said Dr. Cameron. “I was drawn to PAU by the extraordinary faculty and dedicated students, excellent academic programs, and the university’s commitment to equity and inclusion. I look forward to working with all members of the university community to continue to provide students with the best education and training, and ensuring that PAU remains at the forefront in the fields of psychology and counseling.”

Dr. Cameron is a graduate of Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, where she majored in graphic design and played Division I volleyball. She holds a master’s degree in counselor education from the University of Hawai’i and a Ph.D. in counselor education from the University of Missouri at St. Louis.
