The New Editor-in-Chief of Washington State University Press

Washington State University Press has named Linda Bathgate as editor‐in‐chief. She began her new duties on September 3.

Bathgate comes to Washington State University Press after working for the University Press of Florida in Gainesville where she was deputy director and editor‐in‐chief. In addition to book publishing, Bathgate expanded the press’ journal operations increasing the number of publications from two to 10.

Prior to her time at the University Press of Florida, Bathgate served on the editorial staff at several publishing companies, including Routledge/Taylor & Francis and John Wiley & Sons. She has extensive editorial experience, including book and journal acquisitions, development, writing, technical editing, and project coordination.

Bathgate is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego, where she majored in literature. She holds a master’s degree in publishing from Pace University in New York.
