Five Women Appointed to New Administrative Positions at Colleges and Universities

Leslie Kendrick was named vice dean of the University of Virginia School of Law, effective July 1. She has served on the faculty at the law school since 2008.

Professor Kendrick is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she majored in classics and English. She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in English literature as a Rhodes Scholar at the University of Oxford. She also holds a law degree from the University of Virginia.

Desiree Reed-Francois will be the next director of athletics at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, effective June 1. For the past three years she was the deputy director of athletics at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. Earlier, Reed-Francois was senior associate athletics director and chief woman administrator at the University of Cincinnati.

Reed-Francois is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles and the University of Arizona College of Law.

Diana Borgognoni Snyder was appointed assistant dean for career services for the William H. Bowen School of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She has been serving as a partner at the Wright, Lindsey & Jennings law firm in Little Rock, where she focused on commercial litigation

Snyder holds a bachelor’s degree and a juris doctorate from the University of Arkansas.

Vivian Hsu was named ombudsperson at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts. She is the founder of Hsu & Associates, a law firm specializing in employment counseling, workplace training, internal investigations, and mediation.

HSU is a graduate of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, and the Suffolk University Law School in Boston.

Janet Lindner was promoted to vice president of human resources and administration at Yale University, effective July 1. She has been serving for the past eight years as deputy vice president for human resources and administration. Dr. Lindner joined the staff at Yale in 1998 as director of major projects.

Dr. Lindner is a graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. She holds an MBA from the City University of New York and an educational doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania.
