In Memoriam: Gloria Dyc, 1950-2016

Gloria DycGloria Dyc, a professor of arts and letters on the Gallup Campus of the University of New Mexico, died recently at her home in Jamestown, New Mexico. She was 66 years old.

Professor Dyc joined the faculty at the University of New Mexico in 1988 and served as chair of the department of arts and letters at the Gallup Campus from 1995 to 2002. In 2007, she was named Regents Professor of English. Earlier in her career, she taught at Sinte Gleska College in Rosebud, South Dakota, Wayne County Community College in Detroit, and the University of Michigan.

Professor Dyc held a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in speech/theatre from Wayne State University. She earned a doctorate in English language and literatures from the University of Michigan.
