The Next President of Minneapolis Community and Technical College

Sharon Pierce will be the next president of Minneapolis Community and Technical CollegeSharon Pierce has been selected as the next president of Minneapolis Community and Technical College in Minnesota. She will take office on July 1.

Minneapolis Community and Technical College enrolls about 9,200 students in degree programs, according to the latest U.S. Department of Education data. Women make up 55 percent of the student body.

Since 2010, Dr. Pierce has been vice president for academic affairs at Howard Community College in Columbia, Maryland. Earlier, she served as chair of the Health Sciences Division and director of the nursing education program at the college. She joined the faculty at Howard Community College in 1999.

Dr. Pierce holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Maryland. She earned a doctorate from Morgan State University in Baltimore.
