In Memoriam: Sarah Charlesworth, 1947-2013

charlesworthSarah Charlesworth, the award-winning photographer and educator, died late last month at her home in Connecticut. She was 66 years old.

Charlesworth served as a lecturer with the rank of professor in the Lewis Center for the Arts at Princeton University in the fall semester of 2012 and was scheduled to teach a new freshman seminar this fall at Princeton. She also has been teaching in the master’s program at the Rhode Island School of Design since 2000 and in the master’s program of the School of Visual Artt in New York City since 1992. She has also taught at New York University and the University of Hartford.

Professor Charlesworth was a graduate of Barnard College in New York City. Her works were displayed in more than 50 individual exhibitions in the United States and abroad.
