Debra Derr Named the Next President of Mt. Hood Community College

DebraDerrDebra Derr was named the tenth president of Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon. The college enrolls nearly 10,000 students in two-year degree programs. Women make up 52 percent of the student body at Mt. Hood.

Dr. Derr has been serving as president of North Iowa Community College in Mason City, an institution with enrollments of about 3,500 students. She will begin her new assignment in July.

Dr. Derr is a graduate of Linfield College, in McMinnville, Oregon, where she majored in business administration. She holds a master’s degree in counseling from Portland State University and a doctorate in community college leadership from Oregon State University.
