Marygrace Elson was chosen to hold the Dr. William C. Keettel Chair in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Iowa’s College of Medicine. She has been serving as a clinical professor, director of the residency program, and vice chair of the department of obstetrics and gynecology.
Dr. Elson is a graduate of Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York. She earned her medical degree at the University of Illinois.
Celina A. Suarez was appointed assistant professor of geosciences at the University of Arkansas. She has been conducting postdoctoral research at Boise State University in Idaho. In 2004, Dr. Suarez and her twin sister found fossils of a previously unknown dinosaur species. The new species was named in their honor, geminiraptor suarezarum.
Dr. Suarez is a graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio. She earned a master’s degree from Temple University in Philadelphia and a Ph.D. in geology from the University of Kansas.
Stephanie J. Pierce was named to the art department faculty at the University of Arkansas. She has been an adjunct professor at the university teaching courses in painting and drawing. Her paintings have appeared in 20 solo and group exhibitions across the country.
Pierce is a graduate of the Art Institute of Boston. She holds a master of fine arts degree from the University of Washington.
