In Memoriam: Dana O. Ragsdale, 1945-2012

Dana Ragsdale, professor emerita at the University of Southern Mississippi’s School of Music, died at her home earlier this month. She was 66 years old.

Professor Ragsdale joined the faculty at the University of Southern Mississippi in 1974. She taught piano, harpsichord, and graduate courses in baroque performance practices. She retired from teaching in 2010, after 36 years on the university’s faculty.

Dr. Ragsdale was a graduate of the University of Denver. She earned a master’s degree from the Hart School of Music at the University of Hartford in Connecticut and a doctorate from the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati.
