Study Finds a Gender Gap in Work Interruptions for Employees Working at Home Due to the Pandemic
The researchers found that even when both partners worked from home, the woman reported more demands related to childcare and household tasks. Women reported more interruptions than men did prior to the pandemic, but this difference has only increased. Women also noted more frequent interruptions from co-workers and supervisors while working from home than did men.
Kristin Esterberg Appointed Chancellor of the University of Washington-Bothell
Dr. Esterberg has been serving as president of the State University of New York at Potsdam. Prior to her term as SUNY Potsdam president, which began in 2014, Dr. Esterberg served as provost and academic vice president at Salem State University in Massachusetts and as deputy provost at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. She will take on her new duties on October 1.

The new deans are Teagan Decker at UNC Pembroke, Leslie Cornick at the University of Washington Bothell, Nicole Thorne Jenkins at the University of Virginia, Polly D. Boruff-Jones at Oakland University, Lisa Landreman at Willamette University, Stephanie Dance-Barnes at DePaul University, and Jennifer Troyer at UNC-Charlotte.
