Salem College, the liberal arts educational institution for women in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, has entered into agreements with the law schools at Elon University in North Carolina and Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina, to offer accelerated dual degree programs.
Under the 3+3 accelerated dual degree programs, Salem College students can earn an undergraduate degree and a juris doctor from Campbell or Elon law schools in six years rather than seven, saving both time and money. A student enrolled in the 3+3 program will spend three years at Salem College, completing general education requirements and the coursework for their major. In their fourth year, the student will begin study at law school and the credits earned during that year will complete their undergraduate degree while counting toward their law degree.
Salem College’s pre-professional programs, including its pre-law program, prepare students for the rigorous course of study experienced in law school. According to the college, a variety of Salem majors are suited for the accelerated law degree programs, including political science, history, English, communication, and health leadership-focused majors such as public health, health communication, and health advocacy and humanitarian systems.
